Image Consultant Danila Lacoste accepted to answer my questions today at the Bagatelle Fashion Week, to the delight of my male readers! This is going to be helpful, so I would suggest to read it all! Always smiling and inviting, we start by going over her job as image consultant, which, basically, consists of a 'relooking' assistance, a la Magnifique by Christina, only that she usually accompanies her clients on long term "C'est tout un suivi." Want to find out what to wear and how to do it with no fashion-faux pas? Read more! Here's a picture to help you make out whether you're an Inversed Triangle, Triangle, Rectangle or Round. It'll come in handy for later! Danila adds that certain colors can be used far from the face or close to it, depending on what you're trying to achieve. A way of putting it would be to use bold attractive colors to one's chest so as to give the illusion of a wider chest, in comparison to pale-colored pants. If you want to, let's say, try make your legs look thick or strong, you might want to use solid textures for your pants; we're talk about denim or corduroy pants. Enough of her job though, let's talk facts. Need advice as to how to dress well? Here's how, if you are, like me, an Inversed Triangle, of around 1m75 (to be noted that the Inversed Triangle is the ideal body shape, Danila admits with a smile) : 1. First, you will want to accentuate the broadness of your shoulders. You will want to wear shirts, or T-shirts will marked lines at the shoulders (as shown beside). She adds humorously that you could also try to working out at the gym - even slender boys look better with broader shoulders. It is also very important for the sleeves to be in line with the shoulders. If the sleeve start after the shoulders, they will tend to look saggy and unflattering. Another option would also to wear shirts with detail-work on the shoulders (patches, texture, studded shoulders, etc) 2. Second, you will want to accentuate the size of your chest. For that, nothing simpler than wearing shirts or T-shirts with pockets on the chest, preferably on both sides. Although, and this is my personal taste, a single right-sided pocket is perhaps way more stylish. 3. You will try to avoid wearing vertical lines which will tend to make you look longer and thus thinner. As mentioned earlier, go for bold, solid colors on the top and horizontal lines. 4. To increase the thickness of your arms, because, well, let's face it, they can't ever be thick enough - simply try wearing short sleeved-shirts or T-shirts. We're talking of rolled up sleeves (once or twice for longer sleeves is fine. You don't need to go all the way up. We're not going to work out either!). 5. For the pants, the best option Danila says is the slim fit (which will further enhance the Inversed Triangle aspect), with the hems rolled up for the trendy add-on. Again, opt for thick material pants, very textured to bring a sense of strength. 6. Avoid long jackets/coats Danila confesses rather strongly. This year, go for shorter options, with diagonal pockets on the two sides. The ideal would be leather, brown, solid and bold! For the sleeves, be careful! For a casual-smart option, the sleeve should go beyond the wrist-bone by 1cm. If you're wearing a formal suit, then the sleeve has to be in line with your wrist-bone, your shirt sleeve stretching a further 1cm out. 7. For the shoes, you might also want to wear shoes that are slightly pointed, so as to enhance the illusion of the Inversed Triangle and that of the overall tallness. You might want to have a color close to that of your pants. The color contrast should not be too steep. 8. This winter, your favorite accessory should be the scarf, of warm colors to warm up your face. Try Olive green or warm vermilion, maroon even. As to how to wear it, simple: wear it in the form of a V, a la cowboy, to accentuate the V-shape of your body. In that same line of thought, come summer, get your V-neck shirts out! It'll do nothing but good! Be behold, deep-V necks are to be proscribed unless you have a well-defined chest, with ripped pectorals! Q: There was an article about men bag in the July-August issue of Men's Style. What would you recommend? A: You have to keep in mind that we're in Mauritius, so nothing too fancy. Go for brown leather again. It's chic and easily wearable. There is no real guideline though, since it does not affect the body shape. So, I'd say it's all a matter of taste. And size! If you're short and plump, let's avoid the over-sized men bag option! Q: Men beauty products? Are they really helpful? A: You have to remember that men have skin which is less sensitive than women because of frequent shaving. Of course, anti-aging always helps, but as far as men make-up is concerned, we're not ready for it. Let's face it, no one would dare wear it. But then again, if you have oily skin, you can you a skin powder to give you a matte aspect. As for visits to the beautician, an exfoliating scrub once in a while is recommended. You can also do it at home, followed by a face wash. Clear skin has no parallel to attract! Q:What about facial hair? A: A full-grown beard inspires maturity. If you don't have one, try having short sideburns which tend to slim down the face if long. Generally, Inversed Triangle body goes with an Inversed Triangle face shape, so, it's important to avoid making the face look too thin. Instead, have the beard longer on the sides to furnish and mask the too pronounced V structure. A fringe on the side could work as well, should your hair allow you to do so, of course! Last for the road: If you have long arms, try wearing thicker bracelets or watches, which will attenuate the apparent length and thinness of your arm. The wider the bracelet, the shorter your arm will appear. Enjoyed this blog post? Need more tips? Visit Danila Lacoste on her Facebook Page! Very nice review :) Thanks for sharing. I have a question for Danila: We all know that the aspect of beauty rely on a beautiful skin but unfortunately in tropical countries, we tend to have uneven skin tone. How can we cure this?

Hi thanks! I'm not really sure about your question. Different shades of skin tones on a single person? Make-up or good foundation maybe?
