Indeed, after the very 'excited' interview of one student airing on prime-time news, the school administration might be fearing bad public image... Property of hindugirlscollege.org When the results dawn on students, they ultimately let the stress out - through tears, shouts, jumps and what not! Well, when it comes to girls, particularly HGC girls, the limit hysterical attitude seemed to prime in the school gymnasium, at least, that's what we saw in the news! During today's morning assembly, the Rector made it pretty clear that "We do not use such type of language in this school!" while, obviously, referring to the "Mari Mari Kontan" scene! Rumor has it that the student was even interrupted during that interview and reprimanded on her speech style and while MBC could have simply interviewed any other girl, they still chose to broadcast it! Even more, that girl (no names please) is said to have been booed by her school 'friends' for her not "LET[ting] NOBLE THOUGHTS COME FROM ALL SIDES" as goes the school motto! Anyway, the Best School and Best Students' Council Award winning school and Best PTA nominee (2008) has nothing to fear as to this little 'slip of the tongue' - it happens! May you all have a academically fruitful year and do prepare a little speech just in case you girls eventually air again on prime-time News! This is just for you readers! Click Play! We clearly hear the vain effort to correct her by the school administration. Thanks to Mohith Aksh ReDevilzz for linking this. The stressful wait is nearly over for thousands...yet, something bigger is waiting for them. It is clear now that the wait is almost over! Fates will be sealed in less than 24 hours and while some might let tears of joy roll down their cheeks, others would take some time to seriously ponder over the question of doing the Form 5 once again...Mixed feelings of anxiety, fear and acceptance will be leading the SC 2011 generation for one of the most important dates in their student life. This is all pre-results 'symptoms' but what happens after results excitement fade out and the million-dollar question emerges : What will I do next ? Facebook tends to render you unhappy - save yourself now! A recent study reveals that major users of social networking sites, particularly Facebook, tend to be unhappy and fee like "They" are happier and having better lives than I am... After the 425 undergraduates completed the survey, the two American sociologist, Hui-Tzu Grace Chou and Nicholas Edge, confirmed that teens spending hours on Facebook have a lower self esteem and thus show signs of early depression. Of course, this is caused because it seems that of Facebook, we are ALL happy, content with our lives and showing pictures about the latest fancy party boasting about how filled one's social calendar is. That girl with perfect hair and always looking gorgeous and that guy so good looking he has tons of 'Likes' are YOUR enemies peeps! Watch out for those PERFECTLY perfect human beings - oh wait, does that even exist? Last time I checked, "No one was perfect and ever will." Flaws make us human, only robots can have a perfect system. Remember that. Nicolas Cage once again in one of those sci-fi movies about hidden truths... Sumerian stone representation of an Annunaki (Head) For those who saw the movie, released in 2009, or more recently last night on M6, I'm certain many have not made the link with Nicolas Cage's ability to use controversy facts to his advantage... Actor, producer and director, Nicolas Cage has been seen in numerous movies dealing with themes related to either hidden truths or mythology. When the focus was on the Illuminati after Dan Brown's major best selling Da Vinci Code, 'National Treasures' was released starring Nicolas Cage - movie which "centers on the Gates family legend of a fantastic treasure trove of artifacts and gold, hidden by the Founding Fathers of the United States, and the attempts by the scion of the family, Benjamin Franklin Gates, to find the treasure before his ex-friend, Ian Howe (Sean Bean), steals and destroys the Declaration of Independence." It weirdly follows Dan Brown's love of mysterious murder trails patterns...but that could be a mere coincidence! When the major awakening about Earth's 'expiry date' and possible alien exchange emerged in the early 2009, Nicolas Cage is then seen in 'Knowing' . If you read my blog post Phobos Down - warning in disguise and watched the movie, you might able to spot the link! Of course, he might simply be very wise and make movies which are certainly going to be talked about by the masses...but yet, could he be one of those believers in alien technology exchange and the hypothesis about them helping the human race through some way or another. Do you believe in all that ? P.S. This Annunaki thing seems to be a nice theory - those I can relate to. And you might be asking yourself why the hell I'm on it again - well, simply because I feel like I need to share this whole concept and receive constructive feedback. Sine Cera M&M, LACOSTE and GUESS open their closets for MODE-K to peek in! Bagatelle Mall of Mauritius is apparently still the be during weekends and although the New Year shopping craze is over and gone and school's back again, tons of individuals still pack up in the Food Court...but are the stores really working then ? This was an important question to which MODE-K might have some answers... After the Phoenix Les Halles report back in December 2011, the future of the then new Bagatelle Mall was put into question. Will the Mall fail as Phoenix Les Halles did. Would the stores have to set their shutters down? Well, after an afternoon interviewing major retailers, the future might not be that gloomy after all - might even be bright! M&M, multi-brand retailer says the store is dong good and some even THANK the admin for bringing luxury brands such as Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana and Converse amongst their most prestigious international brands to Mauritius. It is true than no such brands we available in the island - genuine items anyway! With a price range stretching from Rs 200 (for mere accessories) to Rs20 000 (for D&G ensembles), the clientele is far from being restrictive! Note that the store co-owner is wearing a dress from the Desigual Summer Collection, available in store. Fidelity Cards are coming soon and promotional sales are to be conducted through private sales and cocktails for regular clients -note, those who spend a lot of money there - and runway shows to unveil new collections. LACOSTE, on the other hand, has no promotional offers planned anytime soon because, according to sales representative they "cannot put Sales since nothing much is left in store anyway." This leads me to believe that the store is indeed doing very well and I was made aware of that fact very, VERY precisely! With their new stock coming in soon in February, LACOSTE will keep selling their items from Rs 1500 (T-Shirts/Caps) to Rs 5000 (Watches shown besides) to Mauritians and why not, to tourists as well! Chinese New Year - 2012 as the Water Dragon Year! Let's get dressed and be ready for some more party! Yes, we know it's only been 20 days since New Year celebrations, and we are all pretty much WAY above the whole party-craze thing...but HEY, who are we fooling - nothing can do you more good than going out to some luxurious dinner with family and clubbing with friends! Indeed, the CNY is now officially on the go and we do not wanna miss the fun. Wear your red heels, red dress, red jeans, red T-shirt, shirt, speedo, bra, anyway SOMETHING red, as it's said to bring good luck on you. MODE-K uses the words of that famous Chinese lucky saying for eating fish is: "May you always get more than you wish for" and on this note, make a wish, ANYTHING you want and lets us know! Post your wildest, funniest, 'whatsoever-est' wish and, guess what? It might actually come true! So, 'Kung Shi Fatt Choi' readers and MAKE A WISH! Sine Cera 11 January 2012 described as a date to be remembered - but for good or bad reasons ? We have been watching yesterday's news bulletin and the introduction of Creole and Bhojpuri as optional subjects has, once again, made it for the "Dossier". With positive comments rocketing for here and there, few of us have been raising concerns... In any case, I see this new 'modification' to our Mauritian educational system as utterly meaningless (Oh, and please pardon my straightforwardness). In a fast globalizing world where the concept of Global Village spreading beyond national frontiers, English as a language is without the least a doubt dominating the international chessboard. Even French, the beautiful language of love, is adopting English words via an over-exposed young generation to the media of the West; through films, music, food culture, social networks, et cetera! That being said, it seems evident to me that English will overshadow any other language within the century and I'm wondering what learning Creole or Bhojpuri -although with it's load of potential (note the sarcasm!) - would lead us to? Sine Cera Third satellite to fail and fall back to Earth in the past few months...is there something coming ? Dear readers, as most of you might already be aware of, the Russian Space Probes Phobos-Ground got back to Ground yesterday somewhere in the Pacific. On the other hand, what you might NOT be aware of is the whole theory about the Annunaki, but let's keep this for later... Phobos is the third satellite to fail and crash on Earth in the last few months and I beg to differ but aren't we more technologically advanced than in July 1969 when Man first set foot on the moon? Yet more than 40 years after this "one giant leap for Mankind", not one, not two but THREE space probes mysteriously malfunction and gets back to Earth. How can we explain that? Explanation 1 : Russia might have left stones unturned in the preparation process and here is why, according to www.dailymail.co.uk, "Russia's space chief has acknowledged the Phobos-Ground mission was ill-prepared, but said that Roscosmos had to give it the go-ahead so as not to miss the limited Earth-to-Mars launch window." but can we really believe this statement when, earlier in that article there is mention that "The Phobos-Ground was Russia's most expensive and the most ambitious space mission since Soviet times." Would Russia ever put in jeopardy 170,000,000 dollars in times of economic downturn? Here is the link for you to have access to the whole article about the Phobos Crash. Safe enough ? Worth enough ? Retail Pages on Facebook- Can we ? I have been noticing Retail Pages on Facebook mushrooming since late last year and, let's face it, some are less likely to succeed simply because they do not meet the MODE-K Standard. What is this MODE-K Standard ? For a fashion-related online media to work well, it has to meet certain standards such as Originality, Quality and After Sales Service - this is the MODE-K Standard. Of course, some can only fulfill one or two requirements to fall into the Recommended Retail Pages Category, and all three combined guarantee success! But let's not lose our focus. These Facebook Retail/Shopping Pages/Groups, as they are captioned, have been gaining popularity and I believe it is high time to admit - SHOUT rather : Not everyone can start one! Yes, this is serious! Being added to such groups without even knowing you were added in the first place is far from being innocuous - your notifications literally explodes on the first day and when you go check why - Eurka! A group selling items! Remember than promoting a group involves time and constant effort - don't go for such method if you are thinking of setting up your own online retail outlet! Jade G. is one such Retail Page which seems to offer you Quality, Originality and YES , After Sales Service! Indeed, if you read the Info, you will notice that modifications on the dresses are Free! Although I still need to carry out my little inquiry about the actual service, I can assure you that I won't loose time in reporting back to you dear readers... stay tuned! Cherry Boo is another very interesting page as per the items put on sale. They are original, most of them cute and affordable. The slight minus point would probably be the number of girls having that same Owl Necklace - oh, that reminds me -what's this new attraction to Owl necklaces ??? That's all I seem to see on your necks ladies! Anyway, we wish you happy shopping online. Shop safe, dress safe! P.S. Have you ever bought anything on Facebook ? If yes, what and what's your opinion on the whole new popular concept ? Sine Cera |
