With the latest collections filling the shelves of the Mall of Mauritius, soon to be worn by the mall walking models, it occurred to me that I had not written anything about one of my fashion spots in Curepipe - NEWGEN. Indeed, the Fashion Store has opened its shutters in Curepipe for a few months now and I must admit that I was positively surprised. It has a very urban store design with, nice options...for girls. Yes, once again, it seems boys are left on the side. Still, I decided to sneak a peek one day, and ended up buying Rs900-worth of clothing. But how exactly can we shop there? Why would I send you there? Read more.
With so much good stuff waiting to be bought from NEWGEN and yet not actually properly put forward on their Facebook Page, I thought I would do a Personal Style Blog Post. Here's 3 ways of using 1 NEWGEN T-shirt for three distinctive looks. It's all in the layering and color-matching! 1 Shirt - 3 Looks!

This article ain't gonna persuade anyone. (I went to the store with my bf and I do like the stuff there as well as he did) but talking about the article itself...duh... Seriously dude, this shit ain't journalism. Even amateurs are gonna be offended... But as I said NICE SHOP though :)

Hi there. I would like to know why the need to generalize your not being persuaded? We all respond differently; we all have different tastes. If you got the impression that I don't like NEWGEN, then I'm either really bad at written communication or you simply got the wrong impression (wondering why...). I feel like I need to reiterate me position, I quote from the blog post, "this shop is a real gold mine...my new favorite store in Curepipe". As to your reference to this blog post being 'shit', which is sort of a strong qualifying element, I would like to say that it's not journalism; I do not claim this to be anything other than a simple personal style blog post. Personal Style Blog Post - do you know what this means? Also, I would like to know why amateurs ( I am one too remember) would be offended and by what? But yes, let me join you in saying that NEWGEN is really nice!

Hi again. Well. good you answered (Bloggers generally don't) it's oppurtunity to make it all clear. Well you say that I am generalising. Ain't this article written for the public and aren't I a member of the public? In this case, I can see I am not the only one not totally agreeing with everything you wrote. Yes, cause there are things I do agree with. Like talking about the shop. But here my comment was for the article itself. I do know about journalism, or personal style blogs posts - call it what you want- and I was just commenting about the effctiveness and your style. As you said it, maybe you are really bad at written communication then!!! Or maybe my taste for good articles made that I couldn't prevent myself from commenting. In any case, I repeat, I ain't talking about the shop. As a Personal Style Blogger, ask yourself the good questions and do not be against criticism. It is the purpose of your blog to give its opinion about something and it is mine to give feedback, again as a reader, a member of the public.

Indeed, this is written for the public. I meant that you are generalizing saying that this blog post will not persuade 'anyone' - ANYONE. I hope you get what I mean now. Again, journalism and personal style blog writing are not the same thing. If you do know about journalism, then you will understand. I'm not the one to decide it. There are Fashion Blogs, Personal Style Blogs, Lifestyle, Cooking etc; each one falls into one category. I would love to have your background on journalism though. And I do find it hard to accept that I am bad at written communication, ranking first in Literature in English at HSC and winning Young Journalist of The Year Award for my school zone. I am open to criticism. There is no denying that; it's only that there is constructive feedback and badmouthing someone. Again, for someone who knows about journalism, your sentence structures suggest otherwise. As for your disliking me style, feel free to say why. As for the effectiveness of this article, the answer I was expecting was WHY it isn't effective? Perhaps I could learn how to improve my writings. Thank you for your view though.

OMG you are so full of yourself. If at the sight of the first critics about your article you feel the need to mention your HSC rank and awards, then I have nothing more to say except that you should learn about the ethics of writing and also all the standards of posting an article online. Try also next time to learn a bit more about your subject and the do's and don'ts. I really have to ask myself what happened to English Literature during the past years at secondary level. Anyway, this is not the place to elaborate on journalsm background, surely not mine with you, my child. All I can say is that whether you like it or not, critism is not always going to be nice. I am not and will never be for the sake of age or awards you accumulated in the past. You should from arbitrary advices and not feel it as a personal attack. Anyway, have a good and self-centered night young man.

Haha. I am only trying to ask for concrete feedback and you keep providing me with questions. Do enlighten me about the ethics of writing and the standards of online publishing. I do not hold the Pandora's box, never claimed that. Again, constructive feedback suggests room for improvement. Trashing helps no one. I maintain that all I was asking was for your explanations. I don't get people who judge without properly establishing their authority. I would much oblige to your knowledge and make amends should you share your wisdom about ethics of writing and online publishing. I am very young indeed and always learning. Any extras from the blog would be well-received. I am more than open to learning from others, and quite frankly, your interaction has not helped much but trigger interrogations about your journalistic background. Oh this note, thank you for being so supportive to young aspiring journalists and writers. It truly shows that you were trying to help around.

What nonsense! Judging a t-shirt by the model? Really??? Man you need to get your facts right....You say that you like the Hoodie thing, which it seems to me is worn by same model. You want to be a fashion blogger, keep jealousy out of it....Post your whole pic and let us decide if in your '1tshirt-3 styles gimmick, is it your shirt or the fake model that's putting us off.Seriously dude, black/white/grey??? But guys, lemme tell u it's really worth a visit at NEWGEN, I went at Kendra and was instantly crazy shopping.

Hi there. Again, I will say that we all have different taste and respond differently to concepts, ideas, artwork etc. I merely offered the possibility, out of two others, of the model/photograph concept not valorizing the T-shirt. As for my facts, I always try to get them right - don't worry about that. And, well, I think I saw that the same model was wearing that hoodie (which should have hinted at how I was only talking about my views on the T-shirts and not the model.) As to you reference of jealousy, I would like to be enlightened. How am I being jealous? I note that you are taking this minor comment about the model very personally. Is he a friend of yours? Well, I am friends with him too and very happy that he made it in the modelling field. FYI, I am not a model. Again, this is personal style blog. I would like to answer all of your questions, but the last one is incomprehensible. Black/white/grey? Care to elaborate?
